Update to the Zon Brouhaha

22b844b1e6170acda498f45c3c40c00eff20a57c638f9377e49e7b381f4d6d99An update to the brouhaha with KDP Select vs Xena the Warrior Author (moi): I received an email in reply to my complaint/explanation. Yes, they realize that indeed it can be difficult to clear channels but once I confirm that the titles exist nowhere else in the known universe (and they acknowledge this can take some time) then I can contact them and have the titles reviewed for re-insertion into KDP.

All well and good. But I’ve decided I do not play the scorched earth game where they lay waste to my entire catalog over one title on one obscure, non-English language site posting a title written for an American audience and for which I would not receive recompense should that site sell a copy.

44008-come-at-me-bro-xena-princess-w-aUZyThis Warrior Author has re-instated all channels available to her and let the chips fall where they may. I’ve already lost my rankings and will not have time to re-establish them in the pre-holiday buying spree using their cumbersome, time-consuming steps. They took down 17 titles because of one.

Thanks Amazon, thanks so very much. You’ve just lost *my* customer loyalty. And perhaps others as well.

About Nya Rawlyns

Nya Rawlyns doesn’t write typical romance. She writes emotion as a contact sport, rough and often raw. It need not be pleasant, heart-warming or forever after. What she seeks is what lies beneath—a dance of extremes, the intersect of need and desire, and the compromises we make when pain and pleasure become indistinguishable. ***** She has lived in the country and on a sailboat on the Chesapeake Bay, earned more than 1000 miles in competitive trail and endurance racing, taught Political Science to unwilling freshmen, and found an avocation in materials science. ***** When she isn’t tending to her garden or the horses, the cats, or three pervert parakeets, she can be found day dreaming and listening to the voices in her head.

It seems like the zon is screwing more and more authors over these days! I’m all for other venues (I only have one of my novels in select, and it hasn’t done much for me). Apple is starting to compete with my amazon sales. Here’s hoping that the smaller platforms keep on growing :).

Again, That’s why 8 only did ONE book. Glad to high heaven it wasn’t more. I hate that this happened to you. But you have a good network and following. You’ll pick it back up again, slowly but surely.
