First off, I want to give a shout-out to the wonderful bloggers who have joined with GGR-PromoGroup for the Jerking Iron book tour. They generously give of their time and resources to help authors get a book off the ground, and even support with reviews that warm my heart.

And boy howdy, did my heart ever need warming. Between yesterday and this morning, the car went into cardiac arrest and is currently on life support. The only cure seems to be a new engine and for this make and model, that’s a very expensive proposition. That on top of waterline breaks, indoor plumbing/flooding disasters, a leaking (brand new) roof, a colicky horse and a migraine inducing case of bullying with moi as the target on Face Book this very morning.

Firstborn and I are working through the limited options while we say a sad goodbye to whatever balance remained in the checkbook. On the bullying front, I’ve respectfully removed myself from that particular arena, choosing a fight with outcomes that could make a difference and not kowtow to people chumming for attention.

This story is action packed and non-stop! It’s constantly changing and evolving with regards to the players and the rules of the game. I love the premise of the story and how Rawlyns incorporates the mafia action, because it offers unpredictability and endless opportunity.  She manages to weave them all together into a complex network of dirty work and dangerous liaisons.
